The 9G-TRONIC transmission uses a mechatronic unit (valve body + TCU combined). Over time, microscopic metallic wear particles from the clutches and gears circulate in the transmission fluid. These particles are supposed to be caught by the conductor plate magnets, but some inevitably land on the TCU's circuit board.
