When corporate executives Lawrence Van Dough and his partner, who run a subsidiary, plot to take over Rich Industries by bankrupting the company and kidnapping the Rich parents, they frame the parents for selling company assets and engineer a hostile takeover. The parents are captured and held on their own oil rig. Van Dough also schemes to take Richie's fortune and evict him from his home.
