In an era dominated by curated Instagram feeds, Facetune, and the relentless pursuit of the "summer body," the concept of body positivity has become both a lifeline and a marketing buzzword. We are told to love our cellulite while being sold the cream to erase it. We are told to embrace our curves while being shown the latest detox tea to shrink them.
This is where the philosophy of collides with reality. It is very hard to say "I love my cellulite" when you never see cellulite except in a harsh mirror. It is hard to say "all bodies are good bodies" when the only naked bodies you see belong to airbrushed models in advertisements for shapewear.
As we continue to challenge societal norms and expectations around body image, beauty standards, and nudity, we may find that the principles of body positivity and naturism become increasingly relevant. By embracing these philosophies, we can work towards creating a more inclusive, accepting, and compassionate society – one that celebrates the beauty and diversity of the human form in all its glory.
