While the plugin functions similarly across versions, in SketchUp 2021 it benefits from the updated Ruby API and performance improvements:
Never apply JPP to loose geometry. Always triple-click to select all faces, make it a group ( G ), then apply the extrusion inside the group context. This prevents JPP from accidentally welding adjacent geometry. Joint Push Pull Sketchup 2021
