Traditionally for the bride, this involves applying intricate henna patterns to her hands and feet. It’s a lively event filled with music and dancing.

Arjun’s wedding to Priya was a whirlwind of color and deep-rooted symbolism. The night before, during the Mehendi , Priya sat for hours as intricate henna patterns were drawn on her hands. Hidden deep within the swirls was Arjun’s name; if he couldn’t find it on their wedding night, legend said Priya would be the one "wearing the pants" in the relationship.

The ceremony takes place under a four-pillared canopy ( mandap ), representing the universe. A sacred fire ( Agni ) burns at the center as the key witness.

Inside, the heart of the ceremony was the Agni . Arjun and Priya walked seven circles around a sacred fire, each lap representing a vow—for food, strength, prosperity, wisdom, progeny, health, and lifelong friendship. With each step, they tied their lives together, quite literally, as their scarves were knotted in a firm grip.
