AliExpress hosts thousands of product videos, but the platform lacks an official download button. This paper reviews existing third-party downloader tools, their technical mechanisms (e.g., DOM parsing, network sniffing), legal risks under copyright law and AliExpress Terms of Service, and user motivations (e.g., offline review, reseller repurposing). We find that while technically feasible, most downloaders operate in a legal gray area and pose security risks.
