Rockstar Games nailed the atmosphere in the first installment. From the haunting whistles of the soundtrack to the vast, empty deserts of New Austin, the game captures the "death of the West" theme perfectly. For many, the map in RDR1 feels more alive in its desolation than the bustling world of RDR2 .
