This is the resolution. The devotee states the Tithi (lunar day), Nakshatra (star), and Gotra (lineage). For Sri Vaishnavas, the Sankalpam specifically declares that the ritual is for the pleasure of Lord Vishnu and Sri Mahalakshmi.
It is performed three times a day ( Trikala ): at dawn ( Pratah ), noon ( Madhyahna ), and dusk ( Sayam ).
