The movie follows the story of Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), a former US Secret Service agent who is assigned to protect the President of the United States. However, after a traumatic event, Mike suffers from a severe case of PTSD and is demoted to a desk job. When the President's life is threatened, Mike must once again put his skills to the test to save him.
