Born on November 19, 1985, in Gurdaspur, Punjab, India, Pooja Bhabra, popularly known as Miss Pooja, began her journey in the entertainment industry at a young age. She started her career as a model and appeared in several music videos and commercials. Her breakthrough came in 2006 when she released her debut album, "Sohni Di Yaad," which became a huge success, catapulting her to fame.
Her breakthrough came unexpectedly. While recording a folk track for a small studio, the producer asked her to add a tutti —a spoken-word prelude in her native Malwai dialect. Pooja, then barely 19, improvised: “Suno suno... ik gal dassan... saade Punjab di mitti vich hi hai dum.” (Listen, let me tell you... the power is in Punjab’s soil itself.)
Throughout her illustrious career, Miss Pooja has received numerous accolades and awards. She has won several PTC Punjabi Film Awards, including Best Actress and Best Singer, and has been nominated for multiple other awards, including the prestigious Filmfare Awards.
