Smudge, as a character, was born out of a desire to create a relatable and endearing protagonist. The creators of the comic wanted to craft a character that readers could root for, despite their flaws and quirks. And so, Smudge was brought to life – a lovable, hapless, and slightly eccentric character that readers couldn't help but adore.
