For the trailer’s opening, Maya wanted animated volumetric light sweeping through dust motes. She layered a subtly animated 3D light, applied a new volumetric scatter technique, and fed it a refined particle system. The particle engine in 24.1.0.78 felt more memory-efficient; she could crank particle counts higher without seeing the timeline stutter. She used motion blur with the updated sampling algorithm to keep edges smooth while retaining crisp detail.
