Simple: The 2015 reboot is widely considered worse. While Friend physically resembles 47 more than Olyphant, the film was a confusing mess of product placement and nonsensical plot logic. The 2007 version, for all its flaws, has a coherent (if simple) three-act structure and a memorable villain. The Vegamovies community has retroactively crowned the 2007 film the "superior cut."
